In the Sinclair competition (Divison Two) we finished runners-up, half a point behind Warwickshire II.
As runners-up we are promoted to the top division.

I heard nothing from our player on Board E4, nor from his opponent’s captain, so assumed that the game was under way. Since there was no evidence that either player had made a move or attempted to let the captain know that contact with the opponent could not be established, then the game was ruled to be a double default.
Our player on Board E10 reported to me several times that he had been unable to establish contact with his opponent. Each time I contacted the opponent’s captain to let him know. When I heard nothing more from our player and the opponent’s captain did not let me know that his player hadn’t heard from ours, I assumed that contact had been established but it seems that our player had simply given up. In such circumstances the result is a double default.
