Manchester and Oldham hosted EPSCA schools preliminary rounds
Manchester provided the control team for the EPSCA Schools zonal, Prestatyn.
On Saturday 26th September 2009, Manchester Under 14’s took part in the National Youth Chess Association Under 14 Years Finals, held in Telford.
The team did not win a prize, mainly because we entered a very young team, on average two years younger than most of the teams represented.Our best result was Georgia Guilbert of Worsley Chess club and Monton Green Primary School, who achieved three out of four points.

The team came fifth overall. This is the first time for ten years Manchester has entered a team for this event. The result was very satisfactory and the children can build on this for the future.
